What we collect
We only collect what we need to answer you and give your consultation.
- Contact details: your name, email address and phone number, and the subject and message you send through our contact form, by email, by phone or on WhatsApp.
- Birth details for horoscope readings: your date, time and place of birth, and those of anyone else you ask us to look at, such as a partner or child.
- Property details for Vastu consultations: floor plans, photos and videos of your home or business, the direction it faces, and the property address if you book an onsite visit.
- Consultation notes: the questions you ask, our findings and the remedies we suggest.
- Payment details: the amount paid, the date and the payment reference. If you pay online, the payment provider handles your card or wallet details and we do not see them.

Please do not send us details about health, religion or other sensitive matters unless you want them included in your consultation. If you do share them, we use them only for your consultation, with your explicit consent, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.

How long we keep your data

Who we share your data with
We only share your data with service providers that help us run the website and our consultations. They may only use it to provide their service to us.
- Bluehost hosts our website, including contact form messages sent through it.
- Google (Gmail) provides our email.
- WhatsApp (Meta) carries messages and calls if you contact us on WhatsApp.
- Akismet (Automattic) checks contact form messages for spam.
- StatCounter provides our website visitor statistics.
- Trustindex displays our Google reviews on the website. Reviewer names and photos are loaded from Google.
- Google Fonts supplies some of the fonts used on our pages.
- PayPal and Coinbase Commerce process online payments if you choose to pay that way.
We may also share data if the law requires it, for example with HMRC or the police.
Some of these providers store data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files that a website saves in your browser. Our website uses the following:
- StatCounter sets the cookies sc_is_visitor_unique on realastro.com, and is_unique and is_visitor_unique on statcounter.com. They count visits and tell new visitors from returning ones. They last for up to about 13 months.
- wpapp_visitor_id is set by our website software to recognise a returning visitor. It lasts 30 days.
- Our website also counts page visits on our own server.
When you view pages with our reviews or fonts, your browser connects to Trustindex, Google and Google Fonts to load them. These services receive your IP address and may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
When you click a WhatsApp link, WhatsApp opens and the WhatsApp privacy policy applies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website will still work if you do.
How we keep your data safe
Our website uses HTTPS, so data you send through it is encrypted in transit. We limit access to your data to Dr Gyan Sharma and anyone helping him run RealAstro, and we only keep it for as long as this policy says.

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your data
- ask us to limit how we use your data
- object to us using your data based on our legitimate interests
- ask us to transfer your data to you or another organisation

To use any of these rights, email RealAstroUK@gmail.com. There is no charge, and we will reply within one month.
Complaints
